Brandon Rimpley
Head Coach - Mens Wrestling
Coach Brandon Rimpley is a 2008 Kearney High School Graduate. A 3rd Place finish as a Senior at the Class A Nebraska State Championships. Coach Rimpley graduated from the University of Nebraska Kearney with a Bachelors degree in Business Administration. He was a member of the UNK Wrestling Team from 2009-2013. Coach Rimpley has been a part of the Holdrege Wrestling Program since 2014. Coach Rimpley works for Norder Supply as a Sales-Agronomist. Coach Rimpley and his wife Sarah have two beautiful children, Banks and Charlie.

Logan Ausman
High School Assistant Coach
Coach Logan Ausman is a 2013 graduate from Keystone Oaks H.S. in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He started wrestling in 1st grade and wrestled throughout high school and into college. He has wrestled, trained, and competed with some of the most elite athletes and coaches at both the High School and College Levels.
Coach Ausman has a Bachelors from Clarion University of PA, and his Masters of Science from American Military University.
Coach Ausman enlisted in the United States Marine Corps Reserve and served as a Machine Gunner from 2014-2020. Coach Ausman currently works for the USDA-NRCS as a Soil Conservationist in Holdrege.

This will be Coach Ausman's 4th year with the Holdrege Wrestling Program.
Coach Ausman, his wife Jordan, and their children Eli and Adelyn have resided in Holdrege since 2021.​
Jonathan Venzor
Middle School Head Coach
Coach Jonathan Venzor grew up in a wrestling family and has had a lifelong passion for the sport. Since being involved in the sport from a young age, and being a part of a well established program, he has experienced the on and off the mat benefits the sport provides. The confidence, perseverance, and responsibility he earned from the sport is what he strives daily to share with his athletes on the mat and students in the classroom. Coach Venzor has had a passion for educating and mentoring the youth from sports, to faith formation, and high school youth groups.
Coach Venzor is originally from Schuyler, NE and graduated from the University of Nebraska at Kearney. He teaches 6th grade Social Studies at Holdrege Middle School. He resides in Kearney with his wife Madison and they are expecting a baby boy in March. Outside of teaching and coaching, Coach Venzor enjoys all things archery. If he is not hunting, then he is likely lifting weights or running.
Coach Venzor is excited to bring his experience and enthusiasm to the Holdrege community!
Charles McGreer
Middle School Assistant Coach
Coach Charles McGreer is a 1998 graduate of Chadron State College, where he double majored in Business Administration and History. There wasn’t a school wrestling program when he was growing up so he gravitated to the sports that were available, eventually pole vaulting for CSC for 3 years.
Mr. McGreer retired after 20 years in the Nebraska Army National Guard, serving in many different roles during his time as a Soldier. While in the service he recognized that having wrestling experience not only improves the capabilities of the soldiers in self defense but is also key in developing the values of work ethic, self discipline, effort and self confidence that are invaluable for success in life.
This is Coach McGreer's 2nd year teaching and coaching at Holdrege Middle School.
Amy Hancock
Head Coach - Women's Wrestling
Coach Amy Hancock, a 2006 graduate of Axtell Community School, has a strong sports background, having participated in softball, basketball, and track. She is excited to take on the role of head coach for the girls' wrestling team at Holdrege High School, where she'll focus on empowering young women through wrestling's values of hard work, perseverance, and personal growth. Though new to coaching, Amy is committed to creating a positive, supportive environment that encourages athletes to push their limits and respect each other. Outside of coaching, she enjoys spending time with her family—husband Dakota and children Brandon, Oakleii, and Rayleii—and staying active through softball and church activities. Amy believes in balancing life and hopes to instill that mindset in her team, fostering a tight-knit culture and helping her athletes grow both on and off the mat.
Ana Espinoza
High School Girls Assistant Coach
Coach Ana is a Holdrege Alumni, class of 2014 and attended Purdue University for both her bachelors and masters degree.
Ana Espinoza grew up enjoying wrestling, watching her big brother wrestle (a Holdrege alumni) all four of his high school years. He placed 5th in state. Coach Ana also enjoyed attending wrestling meets during her high school years. Coach Ana wanted to wrestle her freshman year but was not allowed due to female wrestling not being as prevalent as it is now. Coach Ana is eager to learn, grow and coach the next generation of young female wrestlers.
Ana Espinoza has four children, all born and raised in Holdrege. In her free time she enjoys strength training, volunteering at her church, and going on walks with her children.
Nick Rimpley
High School Assistant Coach
Coach Nick Rimpley graduated from Kearney High School in 2010. He was a 3 time Class A State Medalist with one of those being a State Championship his junior year. Coach Nick went on to wrestle at Colby Community College and was a qualifier for the JUCO National Tournament! Coach Nick then transferred to UNK where he received a bachelors in Ag Business.
Coach Nick now lives in Holdrege and his family farms near Bertrand. Nick and his wife Bri have three boys. Jace, Cale, and Nash.
Dan Smith
HS Volunteer Assistant Coach
Coach Smith is originally from Lexington, Ohio where he began wrestling in the first grade. He competed through high school and into college at the United States Naval Academy. After graduating from the Naval Academy in 1996, he served for 20 years as a pilot in the United States Marine Corps. He served in Kosovo, Iraq, and Afghanistan as a helicopter and tiltrotor pilot. In 2012 he returned to the sport as a wrestling club coach in Maryland. Upon retiring from the Marine Corps in 2016, he moved to Pennsylvania and continued to coach at the high school level there. In 2021, he moved to Kearney to teach as an Assistant Professor of Aviation at UNK. Since moving to Nebraska, he has coached at Kearney HS, Kearney Catholic HS, and now at Holdrege HS. During the summers Coach Smith has formed and coached teams of Nebraska and Pennsylvania wrestlers (Team PANE) to compete at the NHSCA National Duals in Virginia Beach, VA.

Hunter Brenn
Club Coach
Coach Hunter Brenn
(Class of 2018 Holdrege High School)
Coach Brenn's wrestling career started when he was in preschool and he wrestled for the Dusters program through his senior year. He was a state qualifier for the Dusters his Junior year. He continued his education and received a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Nebraska Lincoln in 2022. Coach Brenn returned home after graduation to farm and raise cattle.
Coach Brenn and his family are a huge part of the youth program. Coach Brenn will be focusing his time on the club program this season after spending two seasons helping with the HS program. His goal is to continue to spread the passion and love that he has for the sport of wrestling to today and future Holdrege wrestlers.
